Hello to all dedicated PMBC DH Riders,
Well it's come to the boiling point and the club's DH future is in jepardy. I am now the only official member of the PMBC committee that is a DHer. So what I need to know is...if there are any people out there that are willing to help keep PMBC DH alive. I got into the Vice4 Presidents position over two years ago because nobody else would do it and the club was then in crisis as well. I have learnt a lot and I know we can do it better.
But I need help a great team like we once had. So here it goes anyone who thinks they can give some time to the sport, no matter how big or small, could we please meet at the Inglewood Pub this coming Tuesday 23rd March 2010 (6:30pm).
Hope to see many of your faces there, so we can work as a team to save DH in WA.
Cheers,
CL-Clubba
The Goat Farm Mountain Bike Park is a very well used facility with little or no maintenance.
We are setting up a "Friends of the Goat Farm" working group to do small busy bees a few times through the year
This group will be broken into 2 or 3 divisions XC, DH and 4X
We need expressions of interest in people willing to take this job on. We need team leaders and volunteers to do this work. It is also worth mentioning that DEC reward those that do volunteer work in the form of a National Parks Pass if you have 50 hours volunteer work in 12 months (I think)
Not only will this group provide well needed and overdue maintenance, but will also show DEC that mountain bikers are willing to put something back into the sport.
This is really important guys, if we don't put something back into maintenance on Legal trails, it is unlikely DEC will co-operate with the clubs and WAMBA to legalize the illegal trails.
Due to logging being carried out at Marrinup Round #1 will be held at TURNER HILL

The Gravity Committee are finalizing the DH calendar.
PMBC are staging round 2 of the XC series in Pemberton on 25/4/10. ALL proceeds of this event go back into the Pemberton MTB park.
Paul Neve of 3 chillies trail designs has done a brilliant job with the XC circuit at the newly formed MTB park.
There is a 1.5km skills / juniors track which works well in both dirrections and there is a "National Level" XC circuit in the hills behind the swimming pool that only works in a clockwise direction. Dirt jumps are also currently under construction.

5/3/10 = Sorry everyone who has not entered, the skills clinic is now full (56 participants, target was 50)
This will give small groups of participants per skills instructor, so that the participants get more out of the course.
Further courses may be run later in the year, depending on the damand.
NEW = Ian Wee, from "Perth Integrated Health Clinics" = PHIC is kindly donating 50 vouchers for a free screening check at his clinics (worth $50 each). He is also donating 3 x $100 vouchers for bike set up ergonomic assessments. PHIC are very passionate about cycling and do a massive amount for the sport.

Origonal = Date: Sunday 14 March 8am to 1pm = Langford Park, Jarrahdale
NEW = if you did not collect your trophy at the presentation, they will be at the Marinup race for collection. If you cant make that event, contact me for collection = ttmtb@iinet.net.au
OLD = As Previously listed at top of this page, the trophy presentation for the 2009 State series is happening at the AGM this coming Tuesday night.
Mike Daws previously listed all of the class placing on this page, so you should already know where you placed in the State series.
I have attached a the list of trophy winners for you to look at again. If you are the recipient of one of these trophies, could you please make the effort to attend the AGM on Tuesday so that we can hand them all out and don't end up with a box of trophies left over.
These are really nice Jarrah Trophies, custom made for us with no plastic on them at all.
As you will notice, alot of work has gone into the 2010 XC calendar, which can be sumarized as below;
The committee discussed each race on its own merit, the order of the events, dates, clashing events and which tracks to use. We have tried to shorten the season and space the races more evenly, every 2 to 3 weeks.
There are 7 rounds of a cross country (XC) race series, based on how most XC races are normally run or have been run in the past. (UCI Olympic format) These races will be run by PMBC.
Points for the "7 round XC race series series" will be as per MTBA guidelines (same as we have been using) and dropping 1 round of points as per the PMBC constitution.
These 7 rounds are not called State Rounds or Club Rounds, kind of a blend of both.
Entry cost for the series is $20 per round (a cross between Club and State races)
Any one who "enters" all 7 rounds gets a free entry to the State Champs which will be at Murray Valley (all going well)
