The course is looking good and offers yet another variation on the great trails out at Jarrahdale. This year sees the disappearance of the major climb for the first time in the 9 years of the race.
At this stage the weather looks absolutely perfect with the rain clearing on thursday giving the couorse a great chance to clear up for the weekend. The expected temparture is a max of 24 and a min of 12 so perfect for racing.
The race villiage will be much the same as last year with Perth Coffee Express primed and ready for action again this year to keep us all awake. Paul will be down on site from about 430 on Saturday and he will stay all night.
Hello All,
For your information the Mt. Lennard Mountain Bike Trail area has been ear marked for a Spring Prescribed burn. I was notified by the Wellington District Fire co-coordinator that this burn is going to commence next week, most likely starting on Monday the 10th of November. To ensure the safety of all users we are going to close the trail system on Saturday the 8th of November for at least three weeks. The trails will be re-opened once the area has been deemed safe buy the Department of Environment and Conservation. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact the Collie DEC Office on 9734 1988.
I know this is a bummer but thank you for cooperating.
Cheers,
Ryan Boylan

Bryn Hawken will be attending the MTBA AGM to be held this weekend at the Adelaide national round. There are not a lot of people at the meeting and it usually depends on proxies, so let WA have some power and fill in the attached proxy form and mail to Bryn at (needs to get there by the end of the week):

PO Box 329 Leederville WA 6903
Bryn and John Carney will be meeting at the Inglewood Hotel at 5:00pm on Friday 31st to discuss issues to raise at the AGM. You can drop off the proxy form then and also let them know if you have any issues you want covered.
PMBC has 230 members. If half of them filled in proxies, we would probably have the majority vote based on numbers at the last AGM!
The club presentations and AGM will be on the 8th November at the Perth Bowling club on Plain st East Perth. The evening will start at 6pm with the club presentations and Annual General Meeting and then we will break for dinner and then do the State Series presentations. We will aim to get the dinner and State Series presentations underway by 730pm.
The Annual General meeting will be about 30 minutes long and is your chance to elect the 2009 club committee. It is a great chance to see what the club does and why it is so easy to be part of it. As previously mentioned a lot of the committee is standing down after serving for a few years. WE will be looking for a new President, Treasuer, XC Vice President and other general committee members. Each of those standing down will help with the hand over so the job won't be too hard.
Come along it will be a great night and a chance to have a drink with those that you race with and against.
John
President (not for long)
There was a rumour that Sam was racing at Nannup and the latest from Miik who got an e-mail from him is that he wanted to come ride Nannup, but there are some extra commitments that he is dealing with in the USA so he will not be able to come to the race.
PMBC wish him all the best for his future race team situation and of course for the 2009 world cup race season.
Cheers,
Steve 'Clubber of Seals'
