I'm looking for a hardtail but will consider a dual depending on the spec and price.

hey mate i just got a cannondale F7 Disc mtb from KD cycles in rockingham , they are selling them for $659 and they are normaly $750. the guy in the shop seemed to know alot about the bike and the owner of the store rides one . its very light weight and ive been told it will handle all trails in perth as long as its not dh or jumping type stuff. might be worth a look

I was wondering if you have checked out the 2009 Giant Alias. This bike is a bit under $1000 and it has pretty good specs as well. My mate had one and he said it was a very good bike for XC. You shold check it out or other Giants because they are very good bikes.
I'm not a big fan of buying new because I know I can get a higher spec from buying a second hand bike which may not look as good but functions as new.
If I was to go Giant I would be considering something more like the xtc 1. Or an upgraded xtc 2.
Anyone have a bike for sale that may fit my criteria?

I don't know what you want to spend but I got this for sale for $1,200(paid 2,400). Dual sus(with lockouts), shimano hydrolic brakes with 6inch rotors, rockshock fork, medium frame. Only had a few months but am headed overseas.
I'm selling a 17" Alias Frame with a few extras, if you like bargain hunting for parts and building it up yourself it could be worth considering. This bike has seen hardly any use, brought for my husband but ridden only a few times by me.
