Was wondering the same

Was wondering the same thing. I think it's November 29/30th though i'm probably wrong it seems a bit early.

That is the date. We have

That is the date. We have brought it forward this year to avoid the Christmas party season. I will get more info up on the website in the next two weeks I promise. I'm in Canberra for the World Cup this week so it won't be happening until next week at least.

It will be yet another great race and we will have excellent prizes for all.

Sunday race?

Looking at the racing calendar, the 12 hr is on the 30th Nov- being a Sunday.

Is this because the format of the race has been changed to start racing at midnight Sunday? Pls enlighten me!

Correct me if I'm wrong -

- but I just updated the 12 hour website - http://www.wa12hour.com.au/ with the dates being Sat 8th - Sun 9th November.
I'm fairly sure that this is correct!

If that's the case bigblackv10's gonna have to move his birthday party!

Which date?

Mike, better edit the web site as you've got that listed as December 8 & 9. The race calender has it listed as 29 -30 November.
8th - 9th Nov is pretty close ....

29th and 30th November is the date!!!!

29th and 30th of November 2008. Mike will change the website shortly.

Jon Gregg will be setting the course so expect something good with plenty of flow. I am in the process of getting all the arrows ready so that it will be marked in the next week or two. We will have a great range of prizes and as always cash prizes for the solo categories. Bootleg Brewery have also jumped on board as a sponsor.

The race will follow the same format as always starting at 6pm and finishing at 6am. REgistrations will open on the 27th October. Please pre enter the race as it helps us with the planning of all things logistical.

More info to follow as it becomes available.

Whoops.

Umm yeah.
So I meant to say 8th - 9th December, as that's what I've seen on the nice fancy 12 Hour poster that hopefully the general public haven't seen yet...

I have amended the 12 hour website to show the correct dates, namely 29th 30th November.

Sorry!!!

Course Reflectors

John (or....?)
I have a box full of bike reflectors courtesy of George Clarke (the bike builder) that will be ideal for nailing to trees on the 12hr course.
If you want them just let me know who to get 'em to i am happy to deliver them asap.

Thanks Bill but we can't

Thanks Bill but we can't nail anything into any trees. I do like the reflectors in trees that are already out there but we can't do it anymore. If you find some other way to secure them to the trees then we could try that instead.

Zip Ties

Do i need to say more?
they can be joined together and looped around trees and left or cut off after event

string

Wouldn't string be easier and cheaper than zip ties? Probably more environmentally friendly too.

I guess you will need to know how to tie a knot though.

Reflectors and Markers

The more the better.

Last year some dickhead moved the arrow at the top of the main down hill and a number of people - including me - over shot. You get fixated on the reflectors / bright arrows cause they are much easier to see in your light.

There is, of course, another school of thought that says "Its a bloody night race . . . !!!!"

And I have a couple of kiwi mates that have offered to patrol the course and beat the crap out of anyone found moving markers/reflectors.

As for fixing - Cable ties will work far better than string - but I take Toms point that cables ties are forever . . . . .

As for tieing the knot - Tom you know where the Crazy one and i stand on that !!!!

see yall out there . . .
