Bike-a-holic Toddler

Hi my name is Jaes and I'm a Bike-a-holic, its always been too f#$king long since my last ride! my passion for bicycles seems to increase on a daily basis and is only surpassed by that of my 15 month old son, the things I am about to tell you are 100% true without any embellishment whatsoever. The second word my son ever said after Mama was bike (even before Papa) it started several months ago and on average he would say the word bike 6-12 times an hour all day every day, it's the last thing he says before sleep, the first thing he says when he wakes up and (I shit you not) he says it in his sleep at least once every 2 nights. He will not go to bed unless he has watched Seasons and will not let Mama change his nappy unless he is watching the bonus air or trail footage, his favourite book is a very munted 2008 GT catalogue and he cries with anticipation when I tell him we're going for a ride, everything he sees with a wheel he calls a bike and every circle he sees he calls a wheel. He sometimes walks around the house saying Biiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeke, biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeke over and over again for 5-10 minutes at a time, and will only calm down when very upset if he sees a (yes you guessed it) bike or bike video. He is wicked and I only hope this is the beginning of a bike mad life!

Does anyone else have bikecrazed kids?

It's not Golf or Tennis but it could be worse, its not dope or beer!

Like father like son

I blame the parents. *shakes head*

tomness's picture

burn out

Not to worry. He will probably be burnt out from the pressure of all those bikes by the time he is 4.

Plenty of time then to mould him into the next Tiger or Roger. :)

Thats cool hey.

My 3 year old daughter is the same, my oldest just started dancing like girls do but when Phoeby was asked if she wanted to do it as well she shouted a big '"NO I want to ride bikes and do big jumps!!" so I went down to Hi-Ways got her the latest in trike technology and she has hardly been off it in the last 3 weeks. She was crying the other day because it was raining and her mun wouldn't let her out to ride in the rain. The last club DH at dwelly she sat by my side while I did the timing (broke my leg) and in the top 20 she loved watching everyone do the big jump especially the girls.
So every Saturday when the oldest goes to dancing you'll find me and Pheoby at some local jumps hitting them up.
