There was a rumour that Sam was racing at Nannup and the latest from Miik who got an e-mail from him is that he wanted to come ride Nannup, but there are some extra commitments that he is dealing with in the USA so he will not be able to come to the race.
PMBC wish him all the best for his future race team situation and of course for the 2009 world cup race season.
Cheers,
Steve 'Clubber of Seals'
The good folks at the Yoho Pizza Yollo Company, Charlie and Lisa Cannon, are very kindly assisting with catering for the State Champs event. They will be doing tacos and a few other assortments over the course of the weekend.
They also have their own mobile Pizza Oven and do fantastic wood fired pizzas. Charlie has told me that they would be available to any groups heading down over the weekend who may want some private catering for dinner parties etc.
These guys really do some fantastic food and have supported our events in the past so lets try to support those that support us.
You can check out thier website at www.yohopizza.com.au
or call on 9756 0616
Cheers
Yeah that's right the talented Aaron Kanters has designed a poster for the race. Check it out, he's done another awesome job.
Speciality Volunteers:
We need some volunteers to help with the marshalling and the start gate for the Nannup State Champs Rd 5, at Lewana Pine Plantation. We will need 5 marshalls for practice on Saturaday 4th Oct (10am to 4pm), and on race day (Sunday 5th Oct; 8am to 2pm) we will need at least 5 marshalls as well as 2 people to supervise the start gate for the race. The special volunteers will receive a lunch, but because the PMBC has been operating at a loss for the last few events this year we will not be able to give out anymore free regos. If you are able to help us run this event could you please send me an e-mail ASAP to: dh@perthmtb.com Thank You!
Cheers, Clubber.

The State Cross Country Championships will be held at Turner Hill (look in the left hand index under xc trails for directions) on Sunday 5th October. The course will be slightly different from the one raced earlier in the year with one new section added in and one of the new sections possibly being replaced by an old section.
ONLINE ENTRY WILL BE OPEN IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS.
Add to this some new "A" and "B" line options and you are looking at one of the best tracks around. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN RIDING ANY OF THE "A"LINES (JUMPS) AS SOME OF THEM HAVE BEEN CHANGED. EVERYONE OF THEM HAS A "B" LINE.
At this stage the time line will be:
Late Rego 8am - 9am
Under 13s 9am to 930am Racing on an all new track!
First Wave 930am
Super Masters 2 Laps
Masters Men 2.5 Laps
Sport A 2 Laps
Sport B 1.5 Laps
Single Speed 2 Laps
Veterans Women 2 Laps
Masters Women 1.5 Laps
Expert Women 2 Laps
Well that time of the year has come around again!
The last race of the season will happen this year at Nannup over the weekend of the 4-5 October. All the big names will be laying it all on the line to take away the title of State Champ! The Goat farm has been good the last couple of years, but we figured it was time for a change - and where better than by far the best race track in the state.
Another imporatant announcement about this event is that it will be a dual points round--this means that it will count as the fifth State Rd so that you can still take the best 4 of 5 race results to add up your State Series Total (in other words, you drop your worst result of the 5 events and count your best 4 results--including Nannup).
Speciality Volunteers:
We need some volunteers to help with the marshalling and the start gate for the Dwelingup, Tom’s Crossing PMBC Club Rd 5 Sunday Sept 21st . We will need 4 marshalls as well as 2 people to supervise the start gate for the race. These special volunteers will be able to nominate a race person of their choice for free entry. I would suggest doing the online rego and selecting pay on day, and then on race day when you check in, you will be able to let us know who is selected for free rego (by showing a returned e-mail from me stating that you’re an official volunteer). If your able to help us run this event could you please send me an e-mail ASAP to: dh@perthmtb.com The first people to e-mail me and get their return e-mails are the only ones that will be able to get an e-mail voucher for free rego. Thank You!
Cheers, Clubber.
The race-track will be sent down one of the older tracks at Tom’s Crossing. It starts up at the usual starting area, but goes down the fire-road a little way before it drops into the trees and then sends you over a series of jumps (the 2nd can be used as a mini-whip to hip). Then your pedal down the track towards a log jump/rollover now you are pedalling toward the top of a well constructed rock garden. You need to choose your lines to hold as much speed as possible through the rock-garden that snakes slightly left, then back right and finally harder left. Once through that section you need to jump smoothly off a log or push into the hole. It is now only a short run-up to a built-up road gap which can be jumped or you can ride around it.
The XC Club Race #5 will be held at the Goatfarm, which is located on Greenmount Rise in Greenmount 14th September. Greenmount Rise is just after Scott St heading up Great Eastern Hwy. There is a turning lane on the right to enter Greenmount Rise. Look at a street map for Greenmount Rise and you'll find it. There will be a sign there indicating the turn off. With the race we wil require volonteers to help set up and take down the tents etc, and a couple of people to do the timing. If you are able to help please email me @ johncarneyATprimefunding.com.au See you all Sunday.
Online rego is now closed, on day rego can be done but there will be a $10 late fee.
