Lane Poole Trail closed

While the Lane Poole trail (South Shore) is under construction/modification the trail is closed to the general public. DEC and I agree that due to the technical rating and potential risks associated with this trail as well as the construction process, that it be closed until completed, or at least until it has been signed. I expect the project to be completed in around 12 months, depending on volunteer labour attendance.

Of course if you want to get involved helping me to build this sweet piece of trail then naturally you would be rewarded with the privaledge of being able to test ride some unique trail/trail features. If you wish to volunteer or learn more you can drop me a line at trackman1@aapt.net.au

Cheers

Goatfarm gate closed for new years

I've just been on the phone to DEC this morning and unfortunately they will be closing the gate to the Goatfarm on New years eve and it will remain close until Monday.

This is due to a fire bug operating in the hills over the past week. There have been 20 different fire lit in that time. Obviously with the heat forecast it adds to the danger of a fire at te Goatfarm so we will have to just park outside the gate for this weekend.

Thanks
John

If you want to find out more or make any suggestions then this is the time to do it.

For directions to the Goatfarm look under the Trails section of the website.

WA12 Hour only 5 days to go!

With only a few days to go entries are filing fast and hopefully most of you have settled on your final team make up and are ready to ride. Entries close on Friday so please get them in to avoid the late fee on Saturday.

The course is looking good and offers yet another variation on the great trails out at Jarrahdale. This year sees the disappearance of the major climb for the first time in the 9 years of the race.

At this stage the weather looks absolutely perfect with the rain clearing on thursday giving the couorse a great chance to clear up for the weekend. The expected temparture is a max of 24 and a min of 12 so perfect for racing.

The race villiage will be much the same as last year with Perth Coffee Express primed and ready for action again this year to keep us all awake. Paul will be down on site from about 430 on Saturday and he will stay all night.

Mt Lennard/Pile Rd Trails CLOSED for Burning

Hello All,

For your information the Mt. Lennard Mountain Bike Trail area has been ear marked for a Spring Prescribed burn. I was notified by the Wellington District Fire co-coordinator that this burn is going to commence next week, most likely starting on Monday the 10th of November. To ensure the safety of all users we are going to close the trail system on Saturday the 8th of November for at least three weeks. The trails will be re-opened once the area has been deemed safe buy the Department of Environment and Conservation. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact the Collie DEC Office on 9734 1988.

I know this is a bummer but thank you for cooperating.
