Mt Buller summer 08/09
Hey all,
I am planning to go to Mt Buller this summer coming. They are building a heap of new trails that will be ready for the summer and the idea of getting taken to the top by a chair lift and let gravity bring me back down suits me. What I was hoping for was to get a group of like minded people together and make a real trip of it.
This post is to find out if anyone else has done Mt Buller so that I can get some inside knowledge about it and also to find out if anyone else is interested in coming along.
It is a long way off I know but there is a bit of planning needed and I wanted to get anyone interested together for some rides and get to know you stuff over the next few months.
Anyway, post up if you reckon it sounds like the sort of trip you would like to do.

Mt Buller
Awesome place to go, was thinking of going again this summer but depends on how busy my work is being a sole trader. A group of us raced the state round there 2 years ago and it is worth every cent. Words can't describe how good chairlift's are once you've done that you never want to use a shuttle trailer again, runs were 4min avg and 8-10 min wait and back up on the chair, which on avg lets you pump out 4 runs an hour. Mt Buller itself is only 3hr's roughly from Melbs and summer is off peak so accomadtion isn't super expensive compared to what they charge in winter. Shopping is cheaper than it used to be now they have a supermarket on the hill, you used to have supply up in mansfield down the botttom and hope you brought enough to last(which you would still buy the bulk of what you need there). The people that run the place a super friendly as you would be when thats you work. From all reports going there tryin to make Mt Buller the new whistler style track of australia so would be worth the travel now for sure, i'm more excited about going back again the more i read and hear.
Good luck with it not sure i could say i'm a defiante candidate for the trip.
