G'day All,
I'm planning to ride the Kep track from Northam to Midland on the 5th of July. My plan is to catch the train up on the Friday night and get going earlyish on the Saturday morning (depending on how many "carbs" I drink the night before). At this stage I'm a bit of a loan ranger when it comes to riding partners so some company would be nice (might have something to do with my lack of ability and fitness). Its not that often I get a leave pass either, especially for an over-nighter, so come rain, hail (maybe not) or shine I’ll be there.
Cheers,
Swampy

G'day, There is web site
G'day,
There is web site "www.keptrack.com.au" that has all the details as well as a pdf of the map. Its 75km from Northam to Mundaring weir along the track. I have read that some guys have done the ride in 3 - 4 hours but I'm thinking with my lack of fitness, about 6 - 7. The ride itself is graded as easy to moderate so hopefully should be easy enough to granny along. As for accomodation I have booked into the Avon hotel for $50 a night. Apparently they have good bike security but the guy their did say it may get a little noisy as it is a pub after all. My plan is to ride out my front door to the local train station and catch it up to Perth so that I can catch the last train to Northam, which leaves from the East Perth train station. So other than a train ticket, dinner and b'fast in Northam the trip should be quite cheap. One thing I don't want is it to turn into a full day trek as I have plans for later in the day on the Saturday so I will be trying for a steady pase. Hope to see you there.
