G'day all,
After reading about the Kep tack on here I'm planning on giving it a go on the 5th of July. Could anyone tell me the best way from mundaring to midland other than down on the tar? I will post it on "orgainse a ride" so if anyone is keen to join me by all means.

Heritage Trail
Hi Swampy,
The western terminus (end) of the Kep Track is at the Mundaring Weir Hotel. If you know the way you can go along the Helena River access road all the way through to Helena Valley Primary School and then it's just a short ride to Midland from there.
Alternatively, if you want to ride back a few km up the hill to Sculpture Park at Mundaring Townsite you can continue on along the Railway Reserve Heritage Trail (easy flat gravel) all the way down past the Goatfarm / Greenmount almost all the way to Midland.
Of course the Kep Track comes into Mundaring Townsite along the Heritage Trail from the east anyway, so if you dont do that last little bit of the Kep Track down to the Mundaring Weir Hotel you can just continue straight on that trail (as above).
I did the Kep Track with a group; Perth to Northam and Return last year in just over 7 hours riding time in the rain (plus two glorious long coffee and cake stops at Bakers Hill!!).
And I did it recently from Northam to Mundaring Weir Hotel as a Time Trial = 3hrs 00min 47sec (went off course for 48secs....) but that wasn't much fun.
Hope you enjoy your ride, and the weather is kind to you. Get a free map from some local bike shops or the Northam Tourist Bureau.
Cheers!!
