Need some help! I'm currently running a 2006 SX Trail 2, all stock parts. I'm looking to try and loose a bit of weight off the bike and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good light rims and or tyres for freeride? The stock tyres are good but are a little on the heavy side as with the rims. Any help would be appreciated.

MAVIC CROSSMAX XL's
Hey mate,
For freeriding one thing you don't want to do is sacrifice strength for the sake of 300 grams!!
How much do you weigh? If any case, i'm not an overly heavy rider (75kg); but i tend to test rims a bit; i put a set of MAVIC CROSSMAX XL's on my hardtail bike to give me a bit more strengh and stiffness through corners and rockgardens etc..noticed a big difference in strength and stiffness. My freerdier i run MTX Rims on big hubs.
Um, another set which a mate picked up was the Brian Lopes issue Sun Rims. Can't remember what model / make etc.. but have a search for that. THey're light and strong.
Make sure whatever wheels you're running, don't skimp on the tyres, strong sidewalls are bloody important for wheel stability, cornering strength etc blah blah...
Cheers.

I'm selling my 2007 Mavic Crossmax SL's rrp was $1499. I'll part with them for around $900.
Only used a handful of times for XC.

Yo, Probably wouldn't use
Yo,
Probably wouldn't use the SL's for freeriding; the XL's are a bit more suited to FR / all mountain bikes.
Ride 'til it breaks.
Thanks for all the advice
