KEP track

1. Scratchy is right.. double gees near the end = I saw them too.. (near the brcken bridge) But just STAY ON THE TRACK and you'll be right.
2. I ride a dually (stumpy) But HT is fine... doesnt matter..
3. Pannier or back pack - good idea. You will need to pack - Flano shirt, stonewash jeans (tight), Wifebeater singlet and pair of thongs..(double pluggers if your planning on night clubbing) you have all the towns bars dress codes covered right there!
4. jUst had a flash back of eating a great pizza at Brunos on fitzgerald street between 4th and 5th pubs... so its ;

Pints, pies, pedal and pizza!

hey -- If your reading this, dont get too excetied about the track..Its no EPIC. Just keep expectations low and you'll have a great time!

Ride the KEP trail. Its a great ride.
4 to 5 hours each way... good track, not soft, definately no double-gees on the track (as we were told) .. .. Not too technical but definately enough to keep you interested. Last 8k's good down hill fun.... Great pies at bakers hill on the way... and Northam is actually quite pretty this time of year!
We left scarborough sat morn. Train to midland. Arrived Northam at 4;30pm.. did all 5 pubs in town - drank till 1:30am, met lots of crazy locals.. Massive buffet breaky at the rivers edge cafe 7am next day ($17 all you can eat) then left town at 9am Sunday...home to scarborough at 3:30pm.

Take my word for it - its a great ride..and if your doing the 6 or 12hour..Its a perfect training run.
Time out - 5;38 riding time (8 hours including long lunch at bakers hill)
Time in - 4:39 non stop Northam to midland...
get the train there No car required. Door to door from scarbs. Avon Bridge hotel..Good meals..cheap rooms..good bike security.

7 of us did it last weekend 24th, 25th May..

Do it this Winter!! Dont make excuses... Just do it!! I dont care if you have to mow your lawn, or work, or go to bunnings...I have 3 kids here and I did it.... just do it!... Someone built the track for us - so use it... !! awesome!!

YES! Training ride!

That is a great idea, to ride it before the 6hour. Pies, 5 pubs, all you can eat brekky - it's got it all really.

Thanks

That's some very good info. Excited to do it now!

Yeah fun descent into

Yeah fun descent into Northam, but don't listen to him about the Double Gs I found them straying off the track on one of the last corners into Northam (just crossed the road at the finish).

Don't go by the cross section in the pamplet, it's rubbish. A lot more of a climb out of Clackline on the road than it would have you believe.

But yeah, do it!
