4x at the Goatfarm and other tracks

Now that I've got your attention.
The club and DEC have a plan for the goatfarm that loosely involves the building of a 4x track. The club would like to see it as a priority and this is not exactly how DEC see it. We are planning to have a jump and skills area built in the next few months and are just planning this.
My question is "Do you want a 4x track at the Goatfarm and would this be well used a side from racing?"
Post your thoughts or comments and let us know what you would like to see at the Goatfarm. We are having a planning meeting in the next week or two and it would be good to take some community thought to the meeting. The more constructive posts the better for getting it done.

Dec dont see much as a priority i think we've established that. The next priority for that site should be 4x track and then some dirt jumps later on. After all we are building a mountain bike park arent we.This state has been screaming out for well built public open space 4x track for as long as i can remember. There is that much open space up there it seems ridiculous how much of a fuss it is to make it happen.
I understand funds have to be sort and yadda yadda yadda, but just getting them to tick of on it please.

After making a trip to Tassie last summer and checking out their Moonah Valley MTB park on the outskirts of Hobart, I would have to say that a 4X track would be well worth building. I was the only person that I know of that day who did a full run of the DH track, although there were a few people doing the bottom section of it, but there were stacks of people having a hack on the 4x track. A major thing is that you don't have to be technically brilliant to ride a 4x track and so its a pretty good place for beginners to have a hack and learn the ropes, see if they like the sport, and its damn good fun for the vets out there who can do it at crazy speeds. (And it's always fun to race your mates and rub it in to them afterwards with a few beers)

The 4X track should be raceable as well as a skills area to get best value out of the site/money. Possible?
The development of the goat
The development of the goat farm should incorporate all aspects of riding. i think 4x should be a higher priority as there are many dirt jump parks located throughtout the suburbs. as a local i would utilise the 4x as it idds to the variety.

is there any point in asking? it is a dead set yes from me.
The dirt is already there isn't it? I believe you have access to a bobcat, it should be quite easy to get a 4x track built in the next few months. i think a 4x track would be so beneficial to add a variety to our general riding and ad major adrenaline pumping exitement to racing at the goatfarm.

Just curious, but what is DEC's position on a 4X track at the goat farm?
There has been some loose talk about having one at Pile rd.

a 4X track would be great, there arent many tracks in Perth and lots of the beginner riders use the goat farm so, if they see people riding it or racing it, it could attract more people to the sport, because it isn't too popular in WA at the moment

yes i really think a 4x track at goat farm would be great, being able to practice on a proper 4x as mch as you want and not just on saturday before a competition sounds terrific, but if something like that happen (building a 4x track) how do you plan on looking after the track?? because 4x its made of jumps, jumps mean quite often stack and any stack damage a jump!! What i'm trying to say is if you do built a 4x track you, and we as riders would have to look after it and not let it look like the almost destroy snake trail!! So i think it would be great but you have to be carefull and make everyone understand that we have to look after it!!
Otherwise say the word and let me know when you start and i will definetly be there to help!!
