Saturday Practice?
Just wondering if the circuit will be open for riding on the Saturday (morning) for anyone wanting to check out the course?
Simon is headed out there
Simon is headed out there tonight to put some bunting up so it should be fairly self explainitory. Just park at the south end of the carpark and follow the trail out from there.
Always
this trail is accessible year round.
Just watch out for the damn trees. I now have the coolest black eye; I scare all the old ladies down at the supermarket.
Yeah! I saw that!
Looked nice.
How the whole day works?
Hey, this will be my first ever xc race and i just had a few questions in regards to how the day runs,
1. Do the classes race individually or are they staged? ie. i am entering in sport B, so when i am racing will it only be people in my class on the track or will i leave a certain amount of time before faster classes.
2. How long generally does the day run? Do you need to bring food for lunch and extra drinks snacks etc.
Thanks.
Race days
1. For club rounds (this is a Club round), the classes are staged. The faster classes are sent off first, and then every minute or so, the next class is sent off. This relieves congestion on the track, but doesn't quite prevent the faster classes from lapping the slower ones toward the end of the race.
With State rounds, the race day is split into 2 events. Some classes race in the morning, and then the track is cleared before the afternoon classes start.
2. The racing should all be over in about 2 hours. Then there are presentations, and often people like to hang around to help pack up!
Obviously with state rounds, the day goes on for much longer.
Daylight savings
Just wondering, is the day of this race the day that we finish daylight savings and go back to normal time? I'm so confused with all of this.. So if the race starts at 9am (daylight savings time) that means on sunday we will actually start at 10am (daylight savings time) when our watches will say 9am cos we would have wound them back. Am I talking myself in circles?
Steph
At 3am on Sunday we all put
At 3am on Sunday we all put our clocks back to 2am.
So without confusing the situation the race starts at 9am for the kids and 930 for everybody else. Just make sure you change your clock the night before and you won't have to think about am I going to be an hour late or hour early.
number plates
Can we use our number plates from last year, especially if we are planning to race the same category?
ps Mike I hope your eye / face are healing up well. You looked quite a mess on Monday.
an eyefull.
Thanks.
I've been looking worse everyday since. But getting better at the same time. I'll be able to see out of that side of my face by Sunday :)
Great Track!!
Very much looking forward to the Club XC race on Sunday at Forsyth Mill.
I have confirmed the day off work, my XC bike is up and running, the weather will be good and I am raring to go.
I started the season's training today - with a couple of laps of Sunday's race course - it is in great condition and a heap of fun to ride (even the 'new' log obstacles near the end).
See you there......
Thanks - and sorry
Hey guys!! - thanks to everyone for all the great work done in putting yesterday's race on at Forsyth Mill (John, Bryn and all the PMBC helpers). It was a good race on a fun track in great conditions (lucky it wasn't 24hrs later eh?).
Also, sorry to all the other "Mens Masters" competitors who got mangled by my pathetic first corner antics - a combination of very average bike handling skills and being AWOL* as the starters gun went off.
I hope you all enjoyed the day as much as i did.....
