Was at Goat Farm.
Ryan I was in the white Hilux that pulled up just as you boys left.
Thanks for the heads up.
To me it almost sounds like local's doing it just to stop people parking there.
With all these recent break in may it be time that the carpark half wa up the state track is actually opened?
Hmmm
I reckon you boys should post someone to hide and watch the cars while you guys go out, then spring out and implant the hard boot of justice up the offenders behind.
i agree that the carpark
i agree that the carpark half way up should be opened.
although this may not stop break-ins it will deffinitely limit them because there will be more people around to watch their cars
What about the Po-lice
They might actually do something useful for once. I'm sure all of these break-ins have been reported individually. But maybe it would make sense if the PMBC collected all the occurrences and then gave the police a call and ask them to send the coppers over twice a morning. Just to show some presence.
I think, we'll have to park somewhere else for now. My friend who drives just got a new car. And he'll most definitely kill me, if somebody trashes his car.
The Goatfarm Carpark
For those of you hve been to the Goatfarm recently you will see that significant work has been done on the top carpark. There is still a fair bit of work to go but we are looking at about three months before the carpark is open. It likely to be opened on a daily basis during daylight hours. This will be determined closer to the time.
This is no good for those of you who have had stuff stolen but it will help in the future.
do the whole stake out thing
do the whole stake out thing and catch the bastards they will prob come back
Da Fuzz
Definitely report the incidences to the po-po. If your stolen stuff is ever recovered, they may be able to match it to the victim. Eg. my car was broken into and my whole stereo system was stolen. I reported to the cops what was taken, and some time later the offenders were caught, and all my gear was returned.
It seems every time I hear of friends' cars being broken into at the beach or in the trails, they've had handbags stolen from underneath the seats or cameras and wallets in the boot etc. Ostensibly, we have these thieves very well trained. And, we never learn! The next time you hear of a car getting broken into, you'll bet they got away with wallets, cameras and mobiles. So, don't give them a reason to break into the car in the first place- leave no valuables(and take other precautionary measures too of course).
I feel your anger
My car was broken into at the Dell car park. little **** smashed my rear Drivers side 1/4 panel and my drivers window. Cost me $500 (of which I don't have to spend on people vandalizing my stuff) to replace the windows and all they stole a $20 remote!
It'll be great to get some back on them and set an ambush with a whole group of 20- 30 'fit' MTBrs and tire leavers. But knowing our justice system we'll properly the ones to get charged and locked up.
It a bit of a shit lesson (I know) but you shouldn't leave any valuables in your car, especially when un-attended when your mountain biking. Might be worth going that extra step and opening your glove box and centre console so when they take a peek they'll see there's nothing there and hopefully leave you car alone.
A Cop told me If any one see's someone or a group of people out of place at any of the car parks. take a photo with your camera phone take there license plate make sure they see you, but don't approach them. Label all you stuff too. they can't sell stuff at cash converters with your name de-facing your belongings.
exactly u can do a stake out
exactly u can do a stake out could be boring as hell and u might not catch them but who knows do exactly wat the cop said and take a photo cuz then ur doing nothing wrong and carnt get in trouble
Chill out guys,
it's "sorry" day. Have a sit down in the park, crack an Emu and think about Australia.
Car's broken into!
If you need a more secure place to park cars near the Dell. Speak to Chris at the Kalamunda Camel Farm on Paulls Valley Road. He has been happy in the past for MTB riders to leave cars there. Just check in with him first!!. The cafe there also sells food and drinks.
Cheers

I didnt know that! I was
I didnt know that!
I was dying on a 100km+ ride at that particular point late last year and had to wait till Kalamunda Shell to refuel!!!

people at the camel farm are
people at the camel farm are great. stop in and buy a drink and they will be more than happy to fill your water bottle with fresh cold water.
I stopped in there last sunday for a desperately needed drink and a refill. It is like an oasis out there.
Who said chivalry is dead?
Amid all these bad stories of theft there was one shining example of long gone chivalry...
Last weekend I was out training at the GF when it suddenly occurred to me that I had dropped my MP3 player somewhere - I was hoping, at the very least I'd left it in the boot before I took off. The thought consumed my session when to my surprise and amazement upon returning to the car that it was on my front seat. I definitely had it outside of the car and there was no way it could of been in there when I took off...
So since I leave my car open so baddies can have a look at all the stuff I dont have I must thank the two guys in the silver Mazda that were packing up when I set out or whoever it was that put it back in my car!
If only somebody did this for my green Arnette Threats at the State Champs about 10 years ago!!!!!
